When you donate to Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, you help to ensure that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone.

Since January, through a mix of donations, fundraising activities and challenge events supporters of Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest have raised a fantastic £70,503!

This incredible amount of money has gone towards funding some of our most exciting projects. Scroll down to read all about some of the services our supporters have helped to fund this year!

Universal Credit Advice Service

We’re set to launch a new service in September 2019 to help support residents of the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest to claim Universal Credit. The service offers advice and support from the point of claim up to and including the Work Capability Assessment.

From one-off advice to ongoing support from the team, our Welfare Rights Service is here to support you with your Universal Credit Claim.

Silver Saturday

Silver Saturdays is a social club, which aims to bring older people together for fun and creative activities at our Wellbeing Centre. Once a month people from all over Hackney come together and enjoy a delicious home-made lunch and exciting activities which we alternate on a regular basis – such as mindfulness, bingo, line-dancing, and quizzes.

Silver Saturday aims to address an unmet need in mental health services for the over 50s community, by reducing feelings of isolation and increasing resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.

“I have struggled with shyness and depression most of my life but am very aware that I have many advantages others have not. After a difficult few years – mother and husband dying and job loss – I am really grateful for the friendly supportive event you provide.” – Silver Saturday Service User
