Role title: IRIE Psychological Therapies Honorary Therapist x3
Responsible to: Clinical Development and Services Manager
Location: 12 Orsman Road N1 5QJ
IRIE Mind collaborates with clients from the Black African Caribbean Heritage community to provide psychological therapies, wellbeing support, and case management for individuals with varying degrees of mental health needs, from mild to severe. Our front-line support is delivered by individuals from the same community.
The honorary therapist will conduct psychological therapy sessions and depending on their experience and suitability, may also perform clinical psychological assessments and facilitate group sessions across our services.
As a member of the IRIE Psychological Therapies Team, you will be expected to see three clients per week. Currently, our services are primarily provided face-to-face, with occasional online support when necessary. We offer two hours of group supervision every fortnight with a supervisor who is registered with BACP, HCPC, or UKCP. Additional support includes line management, biannual management supervisions, an administrative team, access to Microsoft Teams for organizational communications and updates, a comprehensive induction, a MIND email address, access to our database, opportunities to co-facilitate groups or support webinar delivery, and participation in training sessions, staff meetings, and other events.
We are seeking applicants who are either fully qualified or working towards their qualification and accreditation. They should be capable of working with clients with varying levels of complexity. Ideally, candidates will be available to start seeing clients in January 2027. There will be a thorough induction and ongoing opportunities for further training and professional development. Honorary therapists will be required to see three clients per week, primarily during afternoons and evenings. Interviews are scheduled for December.
Please provide a brief overview of your training and experience, addressing the following criteria:
– Awareness of transcultural issues in counselling
– Understanding of LGBTQI+ issues and the significance of intersectionality in your practice
– Experience working in a time-limited manner
– Willingness to commit to a minimum six-month placement, with the possibility of an extension
