Volun-Cheerer

Location: Hackney

Hackney Half Volun-cheer

Closing date:
10/05/2019

About the role

We’re looking for energetic volun-cheerers to help support our runners as they take to the streets of Hackney to raise money for mental health services in East London.

The amazing Hackney Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 19th May. It is set to be a great day with a fantastic atmosphere, entertainment and (hopefully) great weather as thousands of dedicated runners take on the challenge through the heart of Hackney.

Over 100 runners are taking part on behalf of Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest. Our wonderful runners are raising funds to help us ensure that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone. We want to ensure they have the best day and your cheers will help motivate them on their way. Join us and help keep spirits high!

No experience necessary. We’re looking for enthusiastic, friendly people who are happy to get involved and cheer loudly for Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest!

We will provide you with cheering accessories and a MindCHWF t-shirt on the day so all you’ll need to do is turn up ready to cheer and have a great time!

If you are only available for a couple of hours during the day, we’d still love to have you help us cheer on our amazing runners. We look forward to you joining us at this fantastic event!

What are they looking for?

Enthusiastic, friendly people with a willingness to cheer.

Practical Considerations

We’ll send through full details with a map and contact on the day.  Bear in mind transport is likely to be busier than normal as it’s an event day. There will be road closures for the route.  If you have a friends or family who would also like to join, then we’d love to welcome them to the group too.

How to apply?

If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please email your details to community.fundraising@mindchwf.org.uk and we will send you more information.
