JOB TITLE: Low-Intensity IAPT Practitioner

LOCATION: Main office, 8-10 Tudor Road, Hackney, London E9 7SN

SALARY: SC5-SP22 – £26,545 (inclusive of Inner London Weighting)

HOURS: Part Time – 30 hours (0.8 FTE)

CONTRACT: Fixed Term – 18 Weeks from final week of September

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mind CHWF to join our Psychological Therapies Team, as a Low Intensity IAPT Therapist. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the post holder will be responsible for providing a Low intensity 3rd wave CBT service within the general IAPT service; providing guided self-help, psychoeducational groups, brief 1:1 intervention and supporting digital therapies.  This is a fixed term part time position where you can really make a difference to the outcomes in the lives of the very diverse local community. This is a backfill role while permanent staff are on a training course and therefore previous experience and confidence working with IAPT and IAPTUS data management is essential. Although the role is temporary there is some potential for extension as well as other opportunities in the service and beyond for someone keen to increase and widen their experience and knowledge of Mental Health services.

The post holder will primarily support screenings as well as offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to colleagues from other disciplines and to other, non-professional carers and will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.  Working on the front line of mental health, the post holder will provide a safe environment for clients to explore their issues and promote awareness around mental health and wellbeing.

Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest has a long-standing and well-established engagement with local and diverse communities and is committed to offer support and respect to anyone facing a mental health problem. The organisation offers opportunities for learning and development and supports a collaborative and creative working environment. Mind’s newly formed IAPT service aims to offer evidence-based psychological therapy and to complement Mind’s commitment to its clients. This is an opportunity for a motivated mental health practitioner who wishes to be part of an innovative and diverse IAPT service and contribute to its growth and development. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to increase their experience in working within a fast paced, compassionate, inclusive, trauma-informed environment and with a widely diverse local population.
