Responsible for: HR Assistant, Reception and Administrative Assistant, Evening Receptionist, Sessional Receptionist

Reporting to: CEO


Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest (Mind CHWF) is a multi-disciplinary provider of dynamic and specialist mental health services and a part of the Mind Federation. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly efficient Head of HR and Operations to support the development of the strategic direction of Mind CHWF and implement agreed business plans within the sphere of the role.

Reporting to the Chief Executive as a member of the Senior Management team, the  Head of HR and Operations will ensure the provision of consistent, robust and expert HR advice and provide an effective human resources and facilities management service to the charity.


Able to engage, motivate and deliver organisational change, the successful candidate will lead, and work with the wider team, to deliver the strategic and operational human resources objectives for the organisation. You will line manage staff within the Central services team who hold office, facilities and HR functions. You will also manage key relationships including external technology advisors, as well as supporting your team to manage the relationships they hold.


You will have experience or a qualification in human resources management and an ability to motivate and manage a high performing team. You must be able to operate at a strategic level as well as having excellent transactional skills and have a demonstrable ability to interrogate and utilise information to identify trends, produce reports and report against KPIs and deliverables.


Due to the nature of the business, it is also important to be able to prioritise a varied and fast paced workload, and deliver to deadlines, as a team player committed to working collaboratively to achieve results.
