Tackling Multiple Disadvantage

What is it?

Tackling Multiple Disadvantage is a project that supports homeless people with complex or multiple needs into training or employment. We offer free, personalised support to help individuals improve their skills, resilience and job prospects.

Tackling Multiple Disadvantage is an ESF and Big Lottery funded pilot project run in partnership with Crisis, St Mungo’s and Thames Reach.

This project does not provide access to housing.

Who is it for

Tackling Multiple Disadvantage is for those who:

  • Are homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness. This includes those in temporary accommodation, hostels or are sofa surfing.
  • Have experienced homelessness within the last year.
  • Are living in North East or East London. This does not include the City of London.
  • Have one or more additional support needs, as well as issues of homelessness. This includes physical or mental health conditions, substance misuse or a history of offending.
  • Have the right to live in the UK for the duration of the project or until December 2019.
  • Have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the project or until December 2019. This includes people who have no recourse to public funds, but who would be permitted to work to make a living.

Participants do not need to be ready to start work but must be interested in working towards accessing employment.
